Where can I get FREE music downloads?

Please don't say LIMEWIRE because it fried a PC of mine a few years ago. This is my work computer and I need to be extremely careful of viruses or spyware.

I was the sameway about limewire, it messed up my computer a few years back. so i switched to bearshare and after a month all my songs didnt work anymore becuase i found out i was apparently using a trial version. so i went to best buy and talked to this guy on the geek squad and he says limewire has made great advances in there protection against viruses, tronjans, spam and all that so i decided to give it a try. it has been a month now and i havnt looked back. so i would give it a try, they have a new system that will put your songs directly into itunes which is sweet becuase 99 cents per song is ridiculous in my book. so basically i would give it another chance.

Lime wire basic. there are very few features, but it does let you get songs for free through file sharing.

kazaa, bearshare, and rhapsody are the only places i can think of right off the bat

Every response above is ILLEGAL so I would be careful about downloading illegally on my work computer if I were you. There is no free legal music sites with the exception of obscure artists looking for publicity.

Here is a list of all the legal sites and I would suggest you spend the measly $150 a year for unlimited downloads and not have to worry about getting sued all the time.
