Whats the best Anitvirus and Firewall to buy?I won't get Symantec,Zonealarm or Mcaphee.look bel

I'm Thinking of getting Panda or Comodo Firewall and Kaspersky Antivirus.I read on Cnet that people hated Symantec.I had a hard time uninstalling Zonealarm and it costs a lot of money to fix problems that occur with the firewall. Its like $30 per accident with the firewall and the same with Symantec that is after the one year subscription expires.I don't want a Firewall or Anitvirus that takes up a lot of CPU and Hard Disk Space. What expert computer websites know which Antivirus and firewalls are best besides pcmagazine.com and cnet.com.I have AVG Free edition,Spyware Doctor,Active Security Monitor,A-Squared AntiDialer,Adaware SE Professional, and Norton 2006 Firewall but its full feature expired.

Go to Grisoft.com %26 download AVG Free Edition 7.5 anti virus . It has no firewall, so you could get SpyBot Search %26 Destroy anti spyware,

also free. Get this at Ewido.com I also have Windows Defender, which has a firewall too. For all of these, get regular updates, like daily.
Personally for me I will teach you a few tricks of mine.

If you have Windows Defender, it is a good antispyware, you can download it free from Microsoft's website if you already have not done it.

Get Tuneup2007 Utilities...

I don't like Panda, I prefer AVG Antivirus
For AV you should try Antivir PE. It is free and very good.

Superantispyware is very good.

Get a good free firewall like Comodo.

Is it possible to install softwares on drive D?

my laptop [eeepc] has a very low disk space.. and i need to install an antivirus.. but the problem is, my drive c has only 400mb of free space.. but my drive d is expandable, it can mount up to any gigabyte imaginable [according to sd card memory].. so, can i save the installer package along with back up data on drive D?

Is it possible to install softwares on drive D?free spyware remover

You can do that by specifying D:\ drive at the time of installation.

However, anti-virus must be installed in c:\. You install other softwares in d:

Is it possible to install softwares on drive D?ktm

You can install on the D drive, however a good portion (depending upon the application) will also install on the C drive (where the Registry etc are located).
You can install software on drive D. Some components may be installed on the C drive as your operating system drive but the majority will be installed on D.

How permanent the installation on D is depends on what kind of device you put there.

Get Dismapper to get a visual view of your C drive and remove junk to free up space.
I don't think so. How would you install and run it from the D drive. To be sure I would check with your computer manufacturer. D drive is usally just used for Recovery and backup.
my pc hard disk is partitioned into three drives, and i had not troubles installing software in drive D or drive E.

Anivirus????

What's the best antivirus now on the market, and can i download it somewhere for free?

Anivirus????free spyware

For your anti-virus needs, I would suggest Avira AntiVir庐 PersonalEdition Classic. It has excellent heuristics, a virus detection rate that is better than most "paid-for" anti-virus programs and is light on using your computer's resources. Uses less then 10 MB RAM on my machine. And did I mention that it's free for life! Works great on my Vista box, too.

Download here:

BTW, Avoid the free version of an anti-virus called AVG, it has horrible virus detection capibilities.

Anti-virus for Nokia 3230..?

I have this nokia 3230, and i want to put an anti-virus in it. Where cani find a good sites that offer free downloads of anti-virus for mobile. And i've heard that some said we had to installed the antivirus in the internal memory, and not the external memory, so does this means that i have to download the antivirus through GPRS from my mobile.? And also could You guys please reffered me to a good mobile sites where i can download free ringtone, theme, wallpaper, softwares etc.?/??

Anti-virus for Nokia 3230..?hijack this

The link below points to a similar question - the answer I've given to it has many pointers to anti-virus programs for Symbian S60 phones like Nokia 3230. The really good such programs (e.g., F-Secure's) aren't free, though.

What you have heard is not exactly true. Some AV programs for Symbian have to be installed in the main memory, yes - for instance, F-Secure's one of them. Others can be installed on the memory card, too. In any case, whether the program must be installed in a fixed place or whether the user is allowed to select where the program is to be installed, is reflected in the installation (SIS) file. It doesn't matter whether you receive this file via GPRS or install it from a file on your computer over USB cable.

But I am pretty much updating every application and driver, however my hp pavilion dv4150us notebook (xp pro sp2)seems to have alot of tasks running in the task manager and folders/files that I don't know if I need? Maybe malware/spyware/virus? I have ran my norton antivirus numerous times, but nothing...Does anyone know of a good helpful free website (not microsoft) where I can find out what these files and drivers are for so I can delete the unnessary ones? Also if i have norton systemworks premier installed on my computer should I continue to have Windows Firewall on? Oh and What does microsoft.net framework do? Do I need this? And what does the group policy setting "NT Authority" for?

I cant give exact answer, but i suggest you use external task manager to see more comprehensive whats runnin.

Download dTaskManager from dimio.altervista.org then run it.

You may see ALL task runnin, some maybe virus, you can decide wheter it virus or not by lookin it address, if you sure it is unnormal, you can kill the task easily ( which default task manager cant).

How do I sum up my "average" know-how about computers in my curriculum vitae?

Im just wondering how to put into words all the know-how that I have regarding computer when I compose my CV. I can use MS Word, PowerPoint, a little of Excel, I can do some tweaks on a Windows-based pc, im fairly familiar with IE7 and now exploring FireFox, I can install (free)security software on a friends pc and teach them how to use it(antivirus,antispyware,antirootkit,fir... First, my condolences about your reinstall. There are some people around here to whom reinstalling seems to be something they do often and without a second thought. I had to last September, and I also went through the reinstallation of all my other software. It took months before everything was back in order.

The general good advice about deleting things that don't seem to be doing anything worthwhile is a loud DON'T TOUCH THEM!

There is no absolute list of what's necessary because computers are so complicated. What might be useless on your machine could be critical on your wife's. We could draw up a list of things that are essential to every Windows XP machine, but it would soon bleed over into the "well, maybe" area.

Are these programs/applications supposed to be on my computer?? They look questionable??

My solution in the past, when I've had questions like this, is to Google each program individually. Sometimes I see an identification for software, sometimes not. But it's easier than trashing my system by deleting something i need.

Good luck.

Go to http://download.com and look there. You can find reviews from experts as well as from users and download everything you need there.

I personally use, Avast AV, Spy-bot Search %26 Destroy and Ad-Aware se Personal for the detection of the things you listed. I got them all from dl.com for FREE. Avast has a paid, version, too, as does A-A, but the free versions do just FINE!

Just remember that all the anti-malware progs you can get won't do you a bit of good if they're not UPDATED on a REGULAR basis. (I do mine at least once DAILY.) AND you MUST scan with them at least once a week. (Again, I do this every day before I shut off my computer. The less time stuff is in there the less opportunity it has for doing a LOT of dammage.)

Just for insurance I use this online scanner:

I am buying a new laptop with windows vista, and 2 gigs of memory. With that in mind I need to know of a good antivirus. I have heard of Norton, and McAffe, but I also heard they slow down you computer. I dont want a free software, (I used a free software on my old computer and got a virus....).

So I suppose what I want is a good antivirus to protect myself on the internet, that wont slow down my computer, and will be with a $60 maximum cost.

Internet security?nortan antivirus

Norton and Mcafee are the only reliable ones I know of that aren't "freeware".

Yes they do slow down your computer (because things constantly run in the background to ensure that you're protected), but would you rather sacrifice a little speed or risk geting a virus?

P.S. Microsoft also has a new program (Windows Live Onecare). I'm not sure about it's performance, but it is about $30 (I think), and you can download a free 90 day trial at microsoft.com.
You may want to consider getting an internet security suite. This will house both antivirus/antispyware products with the addition of other safety programs.

By using a security suite, you cut down on the amount of conflict that can occur when you are using multiple software.

Hope this helps!

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".

Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!

There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

You can download and scan your computer for free.

Do you offer computer fix to explorer or simpler problems?

Help and Support | Security | Microsoft Update

Problem caused by Microsoft Internet Explorer

This problem occurred because Microsoft Internet Explorer was slow or unresponsive. Microsoft Internet Explorer was created by Microsoft Corporation.

This type of problem occurs when a program is slow or has stopped responding and you choose to shut it down. This is also referred to as an application hang. Most of the time, there's nothing you could have done to prevent this type of error, but there are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Troubleshooting

--------------------------------------...

It's hard to determine exactly what causes Internet Explorer to stop responding, but it's usually due to one of the following reasons:

Spyware, adware, or other malicious software. If you have downloaded free software from the Internet, you might have inadvertently downloaded spyware with it. Spyware is software that can display advertisements (such as pop-up ads), collect information about you, or change settings on your computer, usually without your permission.

Internet Explorer add-ons: Add-ons are software that add features or tools (an Internet toolbar for example) to Internet Explorer.

Computer viruses: If your computer has a virus, the virus can cause Internet Explorer to stop responding.

Submitting an error report is the best way to inform Microsoft about the unresponsive application on your computer. We use these error reports to analyze the problems in the software and fix them.

What is best anti-virus/spyware for my computer?microsoft

I have researched all anti-virus products and the best anti-virus protection is Kaspersky. Kaspersky is the best all-round anti-virus program. NOD32 is just as good if not better, it runs faster and has less software conflicts but may be more difficult to use.

The most popular free anti-virus programs (AVG and Avast) have poor detection rates (82.82%, 87.46% respectively). Norton is notoriously bloated and takes forever to perform full systems scans.

Recent tests prove Kaspersky and NOD32 are better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (av-comparatives.org).

aside from the cost, the norton suite is a notorious 'kernel' hooker which means that it attaches itself to the very core of windows: and windows does not like this, unless specifically allowed by microsoft; hence the warning about 'digital signing' you see when installing a 3rd party software in xp) (also which is why the 'vista' platform runs so poorly with driver issues: it blocks this behavior) and so, the system slows down.

so, go with AVG or avast!: both free %26 lightweight.
hey don't use norton at all use avg

free.grisoft.com/
Here is a list of good free antivirus programs http://www.basicspywaretips.com/freeviru...
Yeah, why should you pay for something you can get for free.. I have Vista, I'm using its firewall and using Avast antivirus. It detects the viruses and also removes them for free of charge if you are using it at home.
WE had norton long ago in a distant land. Some file in it got corrputed 20days before it expired and they wanted 70$ to re-install it. We now use BitDefender which seems to be good.
Get Tread Micro Internet Secerty Because Norton Does not support Windows Vista Because They don't have updates for it and your will get a virus get http://www.trendmicro.com/en/products/de...
ya rip off
AVG free %26lt;free.grisoft.com%26gt; and Avast free %26lt;avast4home.com%26gt; are excellent antivirus programs, and they don't just detect, they remove as well. Norton used to be a good product, but it's gotten so bloated it'll really slow down your computer.
So you want all of the people at Norton to work for you for free? Sorry. Nobody works for free.

Norton is a legit company with a legit product that works well.
Yes. it is VERY MUCH BOGUS !!! there are a lot of programs on the internet that do the exact same thing ! such as spybot search and destroy that gets rid of all your spyware and viruses !!! type that in on yahoo and download it for FREE !!!! =] and if you want to buy any protection I would most deff. fo with McAfee Security Center it works a+ GREAT FOR ME !!!

When I click on the "Free Free Ebook Creator download" link, the next page is only advertisementes.

There is supposed to be a download of the Free Ebook Creator there but on my computer I don't see it.

I was wondering if my spyware or antivirus or popup blocker is blocking the download. Help!

It's just a bunch of adds. Even allowing pop-ups just displays more an ad. Maybe you should email webmaster@ fileterra.com and tell him.

Where is the download?norton internet security

It either is a bad link at the site, due to the information being hijacked by hackers or data mining type programs.

Or the site is meant to misdirect you hoping that you would click on some of the links.

I would just re-look for your original search, as obviously this one is not correct at this time.
if your popup blocker is stopping it then the yellow strip across your browser window on top will tell you.

if it is your anti spyware turn it off. If you have any anti adware and anti virus protection software then turn them off as well.

Is my computer and Internet protected with the softwares I have? I have...?

Is my internet and computer safe from virus, worms, spyware, etc?

I have Avast! 4 Home Edition. This is my antivirus and it comes with Web Shield which monitors internet activity.

I also have Comodo Firewall. This is well...my firewall.

I also have Ad-aware (Latest Free Version). This is to scan for spyware, malware, etc.

Up next I have Spyware Blaster. Its like a backup firewall. It protects my computer from spyware.

Lastly I have CCleaner and Advanced Windows Care V2. They are just registry cleaners, system optimization, and to speed up my PC.

All these softwares are free versions. I don't want to pay, but i try getting the best free softwares to protect my computer. Are these good enough? Is there anything better? My computer doesn't have a lot of memory. 224 MB of RAM. I heard Avast, Comodo, Ad-aware are one of the best free softwares out there.

I run anti virus and spyware scans ATLEAST 3 times a week.

So the main question; is my computer safe?

Is my computer and Internet protected with the softwares I have? I have...?network

your computer is more than safe. great software choices :)

you dont have to worry about scanning your computer so much. just schedule scans, and you wont have to worry about it.

Nhatquanglan VIRUS?

Hello, my concern is about my antivirus. Its been a week since I've been using the AVAST home edition antivirus which I got from www.avast.com. I already registered my copy by entering my email address in the avast website, then they sent me the product key right after. It was free since it is just a home edition. I also downloaded the latest updates and I think, my version of avast antivirus is updated.

This is my version of avast:

Avast version 4.7 Home Edition

build: august2007(4.7.1029)

xtreame toolkit version 1.9.4.0

VPS File:

compilation date: 08/17/2007

file version: 000766-1

But recently, I've noticed that avast is not detecting a certain kind of virus which I got from another computer. This virus will make a copy of itself as long as it has a folder. The icon is a folder, but when you display its extension, it is rather an .exe file and not a folder. It has a name "nhatquanglan". You can see the folder named "nhatquanglan" anywhere as long as you have a folder. The worst of all, when you leave any application open for how many seconds, say MSWORD, it seems that there is someone typing a vietnamese phrase which I dont understand. The folder option, the task manager, and the command prompt cannot be displayed and it says that "it is disabled by the administrator". It seems that avast doesnt know about this kind of virus, or maybe it is just ignoring it, nevertheless, avast can detect other viruses aside from it.

Please help me! I can't open my mail! only my mail, another mail it's work! This it's

Hello Mihaela,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Mail.

I'm really sorry that you're having trouble with your Yahoo! Mail

account. I'm glad you let me know about it and want to help get this

figured out.

The good news is I've tested your account and couldn't reproduce the

issue. This means the problem is related to your computer and it could

be something simple, like a program that was recently installed or a

setting that's improperly configured.

I've provided a thorough list of troubleshooting steps below. I

apologize in advance because it's long and technical. I'm hopeful that

with your help, we can fix the problem.

If, after trying these troubleshooting steps, you're still having

trouble with your Yahoo! Mail account, please take just a bit more time

to reply to this message with further details about what you tried and

your results.

Now, on to the recommendations!

SIGN ON AS AN ADMINISTRATOR

Please make sure that your computer account has administrative

If you're not sure, please check with your computer vendor or Help desk

to verify your computer privileges.

If you already have administrative privileges, let's move on to the next

Why does norton anti virus suck?

i had norton antivirus, here is what i've found out through my own little experiment.

-full system scans take roughly 1hr 10min-15min

-i've had norton antivirus for three years and it has found and removed 2 viruses, both common with low payloads, low stealth, and relatively harmless

-i had 41 running processes with norton antivirus.

-i dropped to 30 running processes when i un-installed it.

-i installed NOD32 and gained 1 single running process, opposed to norton's 11

-full system scan takes 15-21min!

-i found two trojan horses that norton missed, with the FREE TRIAL of NOD32!

This was ridiculous.

Why does norton anti virus suck?norten

Norton has replaced AOL as "the virus you pay for".

I usually recommend Free-AVG or Avast! but Nod32 is another excellent product.

Symantec Corporate Edition is still cripple free antivirus (the parent company of Norton is Symantec) but its pricing and distribution structure keep it out of the hands of non technical people.

Why does norton anti virus suck?panda

yes it sux always has been like this and companies still buy it

Should i keep the Verizon Internet Security suite???

I'm trying to decide if i should stick to the Verizon Internet Security Suite for my Verizon DSL? or should i switch to some other software program???? I'm not very savvy when it comes to this kind of stuff, so your help is appreciated. What would you recommend?? I want a software that will go good with my DSL, oh! and i have two computers so i'll need something that will support them both %26#123;please tell me if i'll have to buy a second CD-antivirus software for the second computer%26#125;. And let me tell you this, i'm willing to pay money for the best anti-virus software SO PLEASE DON'T SUGGEST ANY OF THAT AVG SH*T OR ANY OTHER FREE ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE! I don't belive in free things at all, i have seen the reviews on AVG and other free anti-virus but they are rated as average and not "highly recommended".

Should i keep the Verizon Internet Security suite???norton 2008

The best antivirus is Nod32 from ESET, www.eset.com. For internet security get ESET Smart Security.

Should i keep the Verizon Internet Security suite???pop up blocker

Security Suites are generally system hogs and ineffective.

Kaspersky AV has always been rated as one of the best.

The Pro versions of popular Anti-Spyware include real-time protection, which is very important.

Use at least 2 different Anti-Spyware apps.

1 real-time and 1 on demand scanner.

What's wrong with my computer?

My computer goes real slow at times and then goes to normal speed. I've already scanned my computer with Avast! antivirus, Spyware Doctor, Spybot S%26D, SuperAntiSpyware, AVG Anti-Spyware, Ad-ware 2007 Free versions and they all found stuff on my computer, but the problem is still there.

What's wrong with my computer?norton antivirus 2007

This is not recommended but it works

Start%26gt; right-click on My Computer%26gt;Properties %26gt;System Restore tab%26gt; Check the box that says turn off system restore.

Now that you have done that... rescan with AVG etc. and clean up any crap on there.

Restart your computer and go back and uncheck the box that turned off system restore.

The reason to do it that way is because your system will automatically restore certain items you are deleting with your anti-virus/spyware removers. If system restore is off during the scan and removal it can't =)

What's wrong with my computer?product key

Your running to much - remove the following spyware doctor; AVG anti spyware; spybot S%26D; ad-aware.

Then download:

Spywareblaster:

Ccleaner:

Your computer got infected with junks, no matter how many anti-virus, anti-spywares, anti-trojans you use you will not regain the speed that you had before. The best thing to do is back up your HD and reinstall your computer and that way it will be good as new.

Can someone please help me with this norton subscription on my 5mth old laptop please?

My laptop is about 5 mnths old... when I got it it had the 2007 norton antivirus and the norton protection centre, but now it is saying the subscription has expired. Im fairly sure when I bought the laptop the norton software was free, so why do I now have to pay $80 to get it back up to par? I have the disks somewhere but can not find them, and the credit card is currently maxed so I cant pay the subscription yet.

I know some things are completely free and I just dont see why If I have the software disks I should need to pay for it....

I will pay it within a week or so but should I have to pay for a free service?

Before I began playing around with the norton thing this morning to see if I could renew it, a window would pop up when I started the pc saying "norton status good" (in green), but now it has yellow and says norton expired everywhere. It also says there are many risks detected since expiration.

Thanks in advance to anyone who understood any of this and can help

Can someone please help me with this norton subscription on my 5mth old laptop please?norton antivirus

it free for like 60 or 90 days than ur have to renew it. theres no point of having that cd. If u remove norton and install it back u will still receive that msg that ur subscription is expired. as long ur virus is up to date and just wait till ur credit card is not max out and hurry up to renew it. Or u can dl free virus scan like AVG

Can someone please help me with this norton subscription on my 5mth old laptop please?security

Also to add to the other answers, Norton has not expired, rather Live Update has. Live Update is what finds the newest rules for Norton to be Up-To-Date. So like mentioned earlier, wait till you have money and just update the Live Update section.
they base their antivirus on monthly or yearly subscriptions so you have to pay to renew.

Comodo firewall?????

I use a leak test sotware from a former software engineer from Microsoft. And Zone Alarm is 100% leakproof. Plus not one rouge packet has Zone Alarm failed to block.

I use Twister Trojan Antivirus, used by the Govt of China. http://www.filseclab.com

I have been using ZoneAlarm Pro but switched to Comodo Pro recently, which is totally FREE. Comodo Pro is as good as ZoneAlarm. I personally like the Comodo interface better than ZoneAlarm Pro.

For a apple mac powerbook g4 laptop?

do you really need any kind of spyware/adware or antivirus programs? if so is there a way to get one compatible for free?

For a apple mac powerbook g4 laptop?nortonantivirus

For years, Apples have been almost virus and spyware free because they had such a small share of the market. It just wasn't as much "fun" to mess up a few dozen computers when you could mess up millions of computers running Windows. But now Apples are occupying more of the market and slowly but surely viruses and spyware are appearing. Do you need such "anti" programs? It depends on your personal computer habits. If you never go to questionable sites, if you never open unknown email attachments, if you are 100% sure that nobody else who has access to your computer can be trusted 100% of the time, then you probably don't need these programs. But it might not hurt to check them out now, before you need one.

Just as an example, here's some antivirus programs from Majorgeeks:

http://mac.majorgeeks.com/downloads29.ht...

You could look through these sites for additional antivirus and antispyware programs compatible with a Mac OS. Some are free, some might be trial versions or shareware, and some might be full price. You could also search for previously answered questions on Y!A and find out what other Mac users recommend. Hope this helps.

PC Problem Hell!?!?!?

First things first, I need a good antivirus on my pc, I am going to buy one instead of having free ones because I don't feel they are doing anything. Which one is GOOD? with spyware??

Now, I keep having annoying blank popups, ran spybot, cc cleaners, adaware etc, still doesn't stop them. The other day my pc wouldn't start, said i needed to boot from CD, which I downloaded from microsoft, didnt work. So I just opened up my pc and checked my hard disk cables were all in tact, after that it started. But I had an error message saying kerna_stack_inpage_error the other day and NOW everytime I want to open windows explorer, ie my documents etc i get "windows explorer has encountered and error and needs to close" ARRRRGHHH!!! It's driving me insane, maybe I should re-install or try to fix?

PC Problem Hell!?!?!?noton

You need to just reinstall the OS and that will fix the problem, and Avast is a great free Antivirus software thats free, and I use it on all 20 of my shop computers and have great results. You can buy the pro version, but you will get the same with the free. You OS has gotten corrupted somehow, and a reinstall will do the trick.

PC Problem Hell!?!?!?stinger

try superantispyware if that dosent work back up all your files and reset to factory settings

if you have the install cd's that came with the computer

"... has encountered a problem and needs to close" all the time?

Something's happened on my laptop but not sure what.

We had antivirus software installed and that's never reported anything. I've recently installed free.grisoft.com too, and that's clear too.

THE PROBLEM

===========

I rebooted a couple of weeks ago, and then whenever I do anything that seems to have anything to do with connecting to the internet:

- IE and try to access google

- Firefox and try to access google

- Windows Media Player (9 or 10) and play a locally stored movie

(other things too that I can't remember)

it always says almost immediately, "[name of program] has encountered a problem and needs to close"

My workaround is to just move this dialog box off the edge of the screen, and carry on working as usual (surfing, watching the movie, etc) - and things work fine.

But it's very annoying to have this dialog box up all the time, and I can't click "Send" or "Don't Send" because then the application closes.

How can I resolve this, please?

"... has encountered a problem and needs to close" all the time?panda

Before reinstalling your computer (a drastic step!) could you go into Control Panel and access Event Viewer and check the Error Log to see what it says is happening when you try to access the 3 programs you have mentioned? If it has the same error message in each case, could you come back here and add details of the error message to your question please?

Please help, My computer has come up with a message?

saying my computer may be infected with viruses, adware or spyware and recommends that i use Malware alarm for free. I am scared, should i trust it or ignore it?. I installed Norton antivirus a couple of days ago and updated it yesterday.

Please help, My computer has come up with a message?pc security

Ignore it - its a spam/scam popup designed to scare you into using then buying their product.

Please help, My computer has come up with a message?symantic

Like everyone said, ignore it. BUT installing Norton is not the only answer. Depending on which version of Norton you installed, you may only have Antivirus protection. This may be something called Spyware or Malware.

To get rid of this type of stuff, download and install Ad-Aware, Spybot Search %26 Destroy, and A-Squared. All three programs are free, and can be downloaded from www.download.com. Install each one, update it with the latest definitions, and then let it run. Do this for each of the 3 programs one at a time. Between all 3 programs, most (if not all) of the malware on your PC will be removed. Good Luck!!
I'm thinking Norton should take care of you. I get that popup all the time, I just cancel it. My computer is running fine, and I don't want to take any chances. That's just me.
Yep ignor it its a virus!
ignore it and just delete it i get the same thing about 20 times a day, grrrr as i am writing it is on my screen now, unfortunately pop up blocker won`t stop the damn thing.
Go into your security settings and put your pop up blocker on.

Have you got any idea, how to improve the computer speed.?

I have a four year old Pc

None of the program is to set to run at start-up (Except Northern antivirus)

But it鈥檚 still running very slowly. I have update Windows xp and antivirus.

I also done the full virus scan as well. There is no virus.

Have you got any idea, how to improve the computer speed.?photoshop

Make sure you're "ONLY" running Norton. It sounds like you probably are so this is more of a PA statement. Having more than 1 AV program will make a computer nearly useless as they take up all your resources trying to decide which one is protecting the system and which is the potential virus.

Large backgound pics and animated pointers take up a lot of resources.

Setting your virtual memory to auto will likely help. Suposedly there's ways to make the computer use ram before vram, but every time I've come upon a slow system it always seems to have been set rather than letting the system decide what it needs. Switching it to auto has always helped. FYI, right click 'my computer', select properties, go to advanced, performance options.

The main culprit I suspect is services but it's hard to figure out which ones are good and which aren't. My advise would be to just whipe out the OS and start from scratch. It's the only way to make sure you get rid of all the junk.

Tell me about youtube.com?

WinFixer is a type of software application that uses deception to trick the consumer into buying unnecessary software products to remove unwanted applications. In actuality, WinFixer offers false positives for the computer user indicating the presence of undesirable software. Moreover, WinFixer is installed to spy on the computer user tracking his Internet use. In the worst case scenario, spyware has also been included and personal information can be gleaned from the computer user鈥檚 activity as well.
