How do I make my computer faster?

I dont know if it is viruses or some thing else but its driving me nuts. I have trend micro antivirus but thats not picking anything up. I already defraged the hard drive and tryed all this other stuth that was supposed to help but did nothing.

Are there any programs that really work and are actually compleatly free?

I know of a way to clean up your computer a bit, you can do this over-night as it may take a while..

My computer - Right click "Local disk" - Properties - General - Disk cleanup

how much ram do u have? if its a virus try going to download.com and download avg free edition and scan your computer

switch to adaware se personal it usually finds everything i your pc and second.........if you wanna know how much memeotry you have in your pc the do this go to your my computer icon and right click on it..then scroll down to properties...there near the bottom will tell you what processor you have and how much memory you have if your running xp i suggest at least 512 to 800 GB of memory for all the progreams you have on your computer even up to 1 gig of memory is fine and safe
