AVG Anit-Spyware?

For the 1st year, I had no antivirus until a week or so ago. It was intense, so I heard of AVG Free Edition. I heard it was extremely good. Got it, cleaned computer, and felt accomplished. Next, day even more viruses. I'm getting viruses each day, sometimes I can only access things via task manager, and sometimes I can't click the bottom tab. It has something called Resident Shield, that should protect it, and it does, but when it "heals" it, it's sent to the vault, and somehow escapes and infects my computer. I thought being in quarantine means that it can't infect anything. Need help here, cuz it's not fun scanning your computer 2, sometimes 3, times a day.

Stop using P2P file-stealing programs and 95% of your malware problems will disappear. No anti-virus can protect your computer 100%, not even the good ones and AVG anti-virus is NOT a good one.

AVG has proven itself to be a mediocre performer at best. Missing almost 20%, while trying to detect known malware, in some tests. Not to mention almost non-existent heuristic detection and infrequent "once-a day" updates.
