Laptop overheating problem.?

Ok guys check this out. I was on my HP laptop about a week ago or more and I didnt realize it but it got so hot it actually shut off. Ok I went and cleaned it out and found copious amount of dust in there. Now however (and this may or may not be related since I am not sure if this started before or after the incident) I have noticed my computer now starting to freeze lately and run way slow. I have Regcure, registry mechanic, spyware doctor, ad aware, spybot S%26D, winpatrol, spyware blaster, and avg antivirus. Yesterday I went and updated all of these and one by one ran a full system scan and fixed any issues they had. Also went through and deleted several unused items on my computer and have 65% of my hard drive is free space what gives??? Please heal my pain LOL. Thank you

Laptops aren't designed like desktop pc's.

They are made to fit in tight, slim places so the lifespan of a laptop is shorter compared to a desktop. Overheating is always an issue.

Are you using any temperature programs to monitor the temperatures of your system? If not, you should download a utility called SPEEDFAN which can give you readings on your cpu and other hardware essentials. From there, you should be able to diagnose and see whether it is an overheating issue.
