I have had bad experiences with Norton, Symantech, and MacAfee. At the moment, I am using the free version SuperAntiSpyware, which works well, but I don't want to buy a full subscription to it or anything else. Is there some way for me to write or create my own antivirus program?

The research alone would involve a lot of resources just to keep up with the flood of variants when it comes to anti-malware protection.
You would be spending all your time on the computer just fixing your software to handle an infection.
Eating this whale would involve more than taking one bite at a time.
If you're having problems with larger companies like you listed above, you've already stated this would be a daunting task for you to take on yourself.

Unless you are an expert programmer I don't think you could write your own
try AVG. google it.
I suggest you not, unless you have advance knowledge with computers and viruses.
In the meantime, go to http://www.download.com/Antivirus-Firewa... and check out some antivirus programs there.
