I just downloaded avast home edition (free) at someone's suggestion but I cannot figure out how

to look for spyware etc. Can someone tell me what to do or is there a tutorials that explains how to use it..I just registered the key.

Once you downloaded Avast, and put the registry key in you should now have a shortcut Icon in your desktop.Click on this.It will preform a memory test for a min. or two. A box will appear from Avast. In the left hand corner will be a menu tab,click on this,near the bottom it will have instructions on how to use it plus a help tab.Also if you have an older computer it could slow your browser speed down.Avast screens your e-mail and in coming web pages for viruses, if the speed annoys you you can pause the program by clicking on the spinning A then click pause.

I recommend that you not use avast. The best free anti-virus out there is AVG Free which is simple to use. But if you really want a tutorial here is one :
