Aged computer user needs help?

I used to use norton antivirus but found viruses still got through and had to be professionally taken off. I am using internet explorer 7 now (I know alot of you don't like it) does it protect me at all? or should I get something else??? free would be nice!!!

No, Internet Explorer does the opposite of protect you. A lot of malware will use IE as its infection point. An alternative browser is Mozilla Firefox - it is free to download.



Norton AntiVirus should work - assuming you keep it up to date (every 4 hours is OK).



You can always try SuperAntiSpyware - there is a free version, but the pay-for version is much better.



Sophos anti-virus is also very good, as are the products from F-Secure.
Internet Explorer is not a protective software.
